"Endurance events challenge the mind as well as the body.  Our bodies adapt fairly well to what we throw its way.  The mind, on the other hand, is a constant struggle to conquer.  There is not a single run that doesn't leave me feeling a little more in tune with both my mind AND body.  I run for that clarity and truly feel there are moments when we push beyond what our minds tell us we can, that we begin to test the limits the soul." ~ Trent Humphreys

Kevin Mosteller Minimize

Kevin Mosteller:  Marathoner, Father, Husband, Winner, Supernatural.
Age: 39

My running started on the tail end of the 70’s running boom. My aunt and uncle were enthusiasts who ran the Steamboat Classic during a visit with my family back in 1978. Funny enough, I was completely enthralled by the huge Nike banners lining the course near the finish line. I ran road races for a couple years until younger kids started showing up and taking home the youngest finisher award I was used to getting. I focused on soccer and other activities until 1999 when I saw a finish line photo of an acquaintance at the Chicago Marathon. I resolved to run one and did so the next year in Chicago. My time: 3.35:55. I was physically destroyed and seriously disappointed. Even with a maximum of 12 miles during training, I thought qualifying for Boston would be easy. If anything (besides a big red Nike swoosh), continued hubris and repeated failure have gotten me where I am today.
